Radio Respite: Doreen Lecheler 01.21 by BobGregoire | Blog Talk Radio
Doreen is the author of The Spirit to Heal, Notting Hill Press, a division of Winston-Crown Publishing; available November 2010. This book is the first in the three-part HEALED book series – The Mind to Heal (available Spring 2011) and The Body to Heal (available Fall 2011). Originally diagnosed with stage one breast cancer in 2006, Doreen took a more traditional approach to healing – undergoing surgery and radiation treatments. In 2009, Doreen found out the cancer had spread; she had stage four breast cancer. This time she chose an integrated approach to her severe diagnosis. Facing the spread of cancer to her spine and possibly deadly cells in 19 of her lymph nodes, Doreen consulted medical experts at New York’s Sloan Kettering and Johns Hopkins. After receiving limited medical choices – surgery, chemotherapy and radiation – Doreen had the lymph nodes removed and began a spiritual journey to healing. Not wanting to fill her body with toxins to treat the tumor on her spine, and then wait it out -- as the experts had recommended -- Doreen chose a Godly prescription to treat her cancer-plagued body. Her approach included daily biblical readings, cleansing walks ( uncovering unhealthy habits built over a lifetime) laying of hands over her diseased body by a group of church elders, enlisting “prayer warriors” to continually pray for her, eliminating toxins in her environment, a low glycemic diet, vitamins and minerals, and hormone supplements. For over 26 years, Doreen has provided innovative and unique approaches to dealing with the challenges corporate America and other businesses encounter. Helping individuals, teams, organizations, and even nations turn potential into performance, accelerate achievement and create successful, sustainable change is what she teaches to company executives – not realizing one day she’d be using her own methods to help her in the fight for her life.
